Pete Haga serves as the Community/Government Relations Officer for the City of Grand Forks. He is the Mayor’s assistant and policy advisor and works specifically with communications, federal and state government relations and on community collaborations including the GF Youth Commission, immigrant integration efforts, and on grants related to ending childhood exposure to violence and to provide safe childhood visitation and exchange. Pete is a founding member of the GGF Young Professionals and North Dakota Young Professional Network and in 2017 received a Knight Foundation Knight Cities Challenge grant to set up "New Flavors", an "uber for food trucks" to help create economic opportunities for New Americans and increased social interactions for all. Pete’s wonderful wife, Jessica, is his inspiration and he helps her raise three children, Mason (18), Morgan (16) and Emma (6). Pete graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1994 with a BA in History.
