Ms. Galvin is a registered architect with her own practice in Virginia. She’s been a lead urban designer on such projects as the Crozet Master Plan, Old Trail Village, and the Places29 Master Plan and Transportation Study and is currently adjunct faculty at the University of Virginia where she teaches walkable neighborhood design. She has a BA in Economics and Geography from Boston University and an MA in Architecture from the University of Virginia. Ms. Galvin is currently serving a second term on the Charlottesville City Council where she has focused on: creating career pathways out of poverty for low income residents; revitalizing marginalized areas in the City without displacement (such as the Strategic Investment Area Plan); making the West Main Street corridor more pedestrian and bike friendly; and updating Charlottesville’s zoning ordinances and standards to be in sync with its vision to be a healthy, inclusive and beautiful city.
