Chip Boyles is Executive Director of the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission in Charlottesville, Virginia. He oversees a regional government agency that provides local government assistance in the areas of transportation planning, housing, environmental and water quality services, economic, broadband and local land use planning. The TJPDC represents the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Chip came to the TJPDC after five years working in the Mayor’s Office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Prior to moving to Baton Rouge, he worked as City Manager and Assistant Manager in 3 cities from Maryland to South Carolina and served as the founding director of the International Town & Gown Association.
Originally from South Carolina, Chip has degrees from the University of South Carolina and Clemson University in the areas of Political Science and Public Administration. His major experience includes working within college town communities.
